Walk Across Texas and Plant Sale
Walk Across Texas is an official Fiesta event. The Garden offers free admission
from 9 a.m.-12 noon. Come early for a spring plant sale offered by various plant
societies. See the Texas Native Trail come alive with living historians depicting
life in the 1800s and Pioneer biscuits and gravy, compliments of sponsor C.H.
Guenther & Son. The Alamo Area Master Naturalists will offer various displays,
bird walks and art activities.

Animal Botanical
Children with special needs explore the plants and animals of the
Garden with hands-on activities, crafts and games. A special education
instructor will lead these garden adventures. $15/class. Advance
registration required.

Kumamoto En Day
Co-sponsored by the Japan America Society of San Antonio, this
event celebrates Japanese culture. Explore the finely crafted structures
and many symbolic features of the unique Kumamoto En garden, a
gift from San Antonio's Sister City of Kumamoto, Japan. Free
with admission to the Garden.

San Antonio Water System (SAWS) Garden Jazz Party
Live jazz music fills the Garden while visitors learn watersaving
tips presented by SAWS and visit the sales of hundreds of watersaver
plants and colorful blooming flowers. Free admission to the Garden

Farmer's Market
The San Antonio Farmer's Market Association will bring their
fresh fruits and veggies to the Botanical Garden for the first
time on May 8! The market will be at the Garden every Thursday,
8 a.m. - 1 p.m., from May 8 through early December.
Walk&Roll Fest, Saturday, May 10, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.
The San Antonio-Bexar County Metropolitan Planning Organization
will kick-off their "Walk and Roll 2008" campaign
at the Botanical Garden. There will be walking and bicycling
events that begin at the Garden that day. The public will enjoy
health screening opportunities, bike check-ups, education exhibits

of the walking and bike rides offered.

Splendor in the Garden
This gala raises funds for the San Antonio Botanical Society's
family programming at the Garden. Reservations may be made by contacting
the Botanical Society at 210-829-5360.

Shakespeare in the Park
Visitors can bring their lawn chair to the Garden and enjoy the
live outdoor presentation of "The Tempest" produced
by Magik Theatre and ARTS San Antonio. Free admission.

Budding Gardeners
Young ones ages 5-6 explore gardening and nature with hands-on
investigations and creative play. $25/session.

Junior Naturalist Summer Camps
Kids explore nature and learn outdoor skills including native plant
identification, birding, fishing and hiking. They will learn about
Texas native plants and how plants are used in everyday life.

Junior Gardener Summer Camps
Dig into gardening and get hands-on horticulture. With the
help of garden experts, kids will learn to plant from seed, take
cuttings and design their own garden.

Concerts Under the Stars
Live bands fill the Garden with music the third Thursday of each
summer month. Hear Austin-based blues guitarist Seth Walker on
June 19. $5 admission. Box dinners can be ordered ahead of time.

July 11
Art in the Garden
The annual Art in the Garden outdoor sculpture exhibition opens
to the public July 11 and will remain on display through the end
of the year. This year, the work of artists James Surls and Susan
Budge will be featured. Free with admission to the Garden.

Concerts Under the Stars
Live bands fill the Garden with music the third Thursday of each
summer month. Dance in the grass to Wilbert Beasley/Body and Soul
on July 17. $5 admission. Box dinners can be ordered ahead of time.

Saturday-Sunday, August 2-3, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Dog Days of Summer
This is the only time during the year guests can bring their four-legged
friends to the Garden! Special pet-related activities are planned
for Saturday, August 2. Free with admission to the Garden. A donation
per dog will be collected and given as a contribution to local
animal groups.

Terrific Treehouses Opening Weekend
Through a judged competition, local design teams will create and
build treehouses at the Garden. The exhibit opens Saturday, August
30 with a three-day celebration packed with family activities.
Terrific Treehouses will be on display through November 30. Free
with admission to the Garden.
September 18
Art in the Garden
Icelandic sculptor Steinunn Thorarinsdottir will open an exhibit
of work at the Garden. The large contemporary work will be on display
for several months. Free with admission to the Garden.

Gardens by Moonlight
This annual event has become one of San Antonio's favorites!
The Garden is filled with several popular, high-charged live music
performances, plus sumptuous culinary treats all under the light
of the fall moon. Advance tickets will be available at the Garden's
web site at www.sabot.org or
visitors may purchase tickets
at the gate.

Terrific Treehouses Family Day
This is a special day filled with family activities to celebrate
the Terrific Treehouses exhibit. Free with admission to the Garden.
Sunday, October 19, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
BOOtanica! Fall Festival
The entire family can celebrate autumn at the Garden. Kids come
dressed in their Halloween costume to participate in games, crafts,
a costume parade, creepy, crawly displays and other spook-tacular
activities. The Fall Garden Fair offers plant sales, nature walks,
and various demonstrations on fall gardening. The Children's
Vegetable Gardening Program will show the children's vegetables
that were grown over the course of the program and view the judges' picks
for each variety. All activities are free with admission to the
Garden.

Last day to visit the Terrific Treehouses exhibit.

Holiday Fun
Celebrate the holidays at the Garden with a special garden train
exhibit, hundreds of poinsettias, blooming orchids in the Lucile
Halsell Conservatory and much more!
