Buckhorn Saloon and Texas Ranger Museum Hours and Admission Prices

Together, the Buckhorn Saloon and Museum and Texas Ranger Museum make up one of the most memorable San Antonio attractions you’re likely to find. The Buckhorn began in the early 1880’s as one man’s collection of horns and antlers displayed inside his tavern.Today, it features more than 520 species of wildlife from every continent on earth inside the Hall of Horns, plus a shooting gallery, gift shop, arcade, and cafe.

In 2006, The Texas Ranger Museum joined The Buckhorn Saloon to offer visitors an up-close look at hundreds of authentic items, including handguns, shotguns, and badges from the famed lawmen and some of their most famous foes.

Of course, The Buckhorn is still a saloon, so patrons can enjoy a refreshing drink among many of the original furnishings at this historic attraction in San Antonio.

Children (3-11 years): $14.99 plus tax

Children (2 years old and under): Free

Group Visits

Discount rates are available with reservations for groups of at least 10 people, with complimentary entrance for chaperones, teachers, and bus drivers. For groups of 20 or more people, the museum recommends scheduling a discounted-rate group lunch at The Buckhorn Cafe. Lunch includes reserved seating and either a burger, barbecue, or sandwich lunch (with other options available for school groups upon request).  

Both museums are available for private catered events. The Texas Ranger Museum can accommodate as many as 180 people, while The Buckhorn can hold up to 2,000.
