Located in Kerrville’s iconic post office building, the Kerr Arts and Cultural Center showcases the very best art from the Texas Hill Country and beyond. Stroll through its galleries and you’ll see world-class works of art in its many forms, from paintings to sculptures. Founded in 1995 to create a space for local artists to exhibit their creations, the center now hosts rotating exhibitions, art shows, and workshops. Free to visit, the Kerr Arts and Cultural Center is one of Kerrville’s many must-visit attractions.
The Kerr Arts and Cultural Center is closed on July 4, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day.
Celebrate the ancient tradition of gourd art at the annual Southwest Gourd Fine Art Show in May and June. Held at the Kerr Arts and Cultural Center, the event attracts the nation’s finest gourd artists to compete in a range of categories, from Southwestern and sculptural to carving and mixed media.
See the works of the best furniture makers in Texas at this annual juried exhibit in November and December. Throughout the event, the center’s three galleries are filled with fine heirloom-quality pieces, craft accessories, and gift items as part of the nationally acclaimed show.
