Since 1980, the Lutcher Theater has hosted national touring productions such as Riverdance, Blue Man Group, and The Wizard of Oz, as well as world-class musicians like Willie Nelson, BB King, and Lyle Lovett.
This illustrious tradition continues to this day at the Lutcher Theater, home to the largest performing arts series between Houston and New Orleans.
Lutcher Theater offers two series of performances, both of which start in October and end in April. The Performing Arts Series features theatrical productions and concerts suitable for all ages, while the Kids Series typically includes such classics like The Cat in the Hat and Goodnight Moon. National and international children’s theater companies visit the Lutcher Theater throughout the season, providing big-city entertainment to Orange’s youngsters. Each performance is held in the morning and meet the educational criteria for Texas and Louisiana, making the Lutcher Theater a great destination for field trips.
Each performance can be enjoyed from anywhere in the multi-level 1,460-seat auditorium due to the clear sight lines, and an orchestra pit gives the theater the ability to accommodate just about any kind of show. That means that any new season at the Lutcher Theater can hold its fair share of surprises. After all, the theater once hosted a performance by William Shatner.
Tickets and a full schedule of events are available on the Lutcher Theater’s website. Top-class entertainment right in the charming town of Orange; does it get any better than that? Catch a show and experience a night at the Lutcher Theater for yourself.
