Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum is a Blue Star Museum!
Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America offer free admission to the nation's active duty military personnel including National Guard and Reserve and their families from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
We’re a museum dedicated to one thing: the history of the Panhandle-Plains region. But that singular focus expresses itself in a multitude of ways. Our permanent exhibits cover art, paleontology, agriculture, petroleum, transportation, geology, fine art and much more. For our special exhibits, any subject is fair game. Items featured in the video game Red Dead Redemption? Pop Culture of the past 60 years? Traveling exhibitions on loan from museum’s across the country? All of those have been on display as recent special exhibits. Expect something new every time you return!
Guided tours can be booked for groups of 20 people or more. Please contact the museum to arrange a time and date.
