Texas Maritime Museum Hours & Schedule

Rockport’s rich history of coastal life and seafaring comes alive at the Texas Maritime Museum. Located across from the harbor in the Rockport Cultural Arts District, the family-friendly museum encourages you to dive into the interactive exhibits and walk away with newfound knowledge of life along the Gulf of Mexico. You’ll meet the area’s First Peoples and French and Spanish explorers. You’ll learn about the area’s thriving fishing industries. You’ll marvel at the scale model of Bullwinkle — a Gulf of Mexico offshore oil drilling platform that’s one of the world’s tallest freestanding structures. And last but not least, you’ll take a nostalgic journey through the unparalleled collection of fishing gear that led the community to open the museum in 1989.

As the official Maritime Museum of the State of Texas and an accredited museum through the prestigious American Alliance of Museums, you can bet on the caliber of interactive and informative exhibits. While you’re here, be sure to visit the observation deck on the museum’s lighthouse. The breathtaking views of Rockport, Fulton, and the historic coastal waters are worth the trip!
