The Best Little Cowboy Gathering in Texas offers a great opportunity to revel in all the things that make cowboy culture great. Dance your cowboy heart out to classic western swing and country music performed by expert musicians, savor some delicious barbecue, and enjoy a day full of family-friendly fun. Mayfest
Celebrate Fayette County’s Czech heritage at the annual Mayfest in La Grange. Delicious Czech food, live musical performances by a polka band, historical tours, and a classic car show are all part of the festival’s events. Mayfest is held in mid-May at the Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center and the Fayette County Fairgrounds.

Fayette County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo
Is there anything more Texan than a good old-fashioned rodeo? Enjoy this Texas tradition at the Fayette County Sheriff’s Posse Rodeo, a three-day event that includes bronc and bull riding, trick riding, and barrel racing. There’s also plenty of tasty food, live music, and entertainment that the whole family can enjoy. The rodeo is typically held in early August at the Posse Rodeo Arena.

Fayette County Fair

Oktoberfest on the Square

Heritage Festival & Muziky
Heritage Festival & Muziky is an annual two-day event that features Czech food and music; demonstrations of blacksmithing, corn shelling, wood cutting, and wine making; and a biergarten. The festival is typically held on a Friday and Saturday in mid-October. A spectacular fireworks show marks the end of the event, held every year at the Fayette County Fairgrounds.

Schmeckenfest
La Grange’s Schmeckenfest is an annual Christmas celebration centered on wassail, a holiday drink similar to warm cider. Sample more than 20 varieties of wassail crafted by La Grange’s business owners and community leaders, enjoy the holiday music, and snack on tasty treats sold by local non-profit organizations. The event begins with a parade and culminates with a wassail tasting contest, with the winner being known as Schmeckenmeister until the next year’s Schmeckenfest.
