Frank Augustus Hamer Marker and Statue
Ever heard of Bonnie and Clyde? Visit the statue and historic marker dedicated to the lawman who finally arrested them, Navasota resident Frank Hamer. The local lawman stood 6’5” tall and was known for curbing violence in the area in the early 20th century. Hamer joined the Texas Rangers a few years later and tracked gunrunners, bank robbers, and bootleggers throughout the American West. The statue and marker stand in front of City Hall in historic downtown Navasota.
