Temple’s Cultural Activities Center is an all-in-one arts facility home to numerous galleries, live music & performances whether be a symphonic concert or a theatrical play and hosts private events. Czech Heritage Museum and Genealogy Center
In the latter half of the 19th century, a wave of Czech immigrants settled in towns across Central Texas, forever changing the cultural makeup of the Lone Star State. The story of these immigrants is retold in the Czech Heritage Museum and Genealogy Center in Temple. This museum houses artifacts and exhibits that examine Czech culture and history from the sixth century through the Cold War. Visitors are welcome to the museum Tuesday through Saturday.

Temple sits just a few miles east of Lake Belton, a vast recreational lake to go boating and fishing. Several parks nestled on the lake’s shores have public-access boat ramps, fishing spots, camping, and picnicking. The lake is open to the public year-round.

Lion’s Junction Family Water Park
Beat the Texas summer heat by cooling off at Lion’s Junction Family Water Park. Take a dip in the unique zero-depth pool or slide down one of the park’s two three-story waterslides. In addition, there is a special play area just for kids and a 200-foot-long lazy river. The water park is open during the summer months only.

Miller Springs Nature Area
Hikers, bikers, and wildlife enthusiasts will find much to love about Miller Springs Nature Area. This scenic 260-acre park has 11 miles of hiking and biking trails and is home to more than 200 species of wildflowers and 90 varieties of birds. The nature area is open from dawn to dusk throughout the year, and admission is free.

Railroad & Heritage Museum
Temple’s Railroad & Heritage Museum offers an in-depth look into the town’s history with rail dating back to the early 20th-century. The museum showcases a collection of railroad equipment and memorabilia related to the history of the region, as well as rotating exhibits that delve into a range of topics. All of this is housed within the original Santa Fe Depot that was built in 1911. Today, the depot stands next to an active rail line, offering rail fans to see modern trains as they zoom by.

Sammons Golf Course
Sammons Golf Links is a public 18-hole golf course set among the rolling hills and oak trees of Central Texas. The par-70 course resides on the north side of Lake Polk, which is fed by a creek that comes into play on 16 of the holes. Sammons Golf Links is open year-round.
