Events in Fort Stockton

Pecos County Livestock Show
Each year at the Pecos County Coliseum, students from the Future Farmers of America and the 4-H Club gather to present and auction off their steers, heifers, rabbits, goats, sheep, and hogs.

Texas History Day
The Annie Riggs Memorial Museum welcomes children for exhibits and special presentations on the history of Pecos County and the great state of Texas.

April

Big Bend Open Road Race
The most challenging open road race in the country for more than 20 years, the Big Bend Open Road Race is a 118-mile loop from Fort Stockton to Sanderson and back that’s open to everyone older than 18. Festivities include a car show, a party at Rooney Park, and a parade through town showcasing all the Vipers, Mustangs, Camaros, and other hot rods primed for the competition.

June - August

Summer Off the Patio
During the summer, the Annie Riggs Memorial Museum hosts free concerts on its patio every Thursday night. Wine and refreshments are available for purchase, so come hungry and thirsty.

Blue Moon on the Park
Head to Zero Stone Park every other Thursday during the summer for this free outdoor concert series featuring Texas musicians, sponsored by the Fort Stockton Public Library.

Annual Water Carnival
On the third weekend in July, the Comanche Springs Pool hosts this 80-year tradition that features local residents as the stars of a synchronized-swimming musical production.

Old Fort Days
Step inside of a teepee, take a horse ride, watch a (staged) old West gunfight, enjoy a historic play, and more at this annual celebration on the grounds of Historic Fort Stockton.

Arts and Crafts Fair

Christmas Parade
