Brazos Bend State Park
Escape to the great outdoors at Brazos Bend State Park, a vast natural area that has hardwood forests, bayous, and six scenic fishing lakes. An observatory, nature center with exhibits showcasing the park’s three major ecosystems, and camp sites reside within the park as well.

CAST Theatrical Company
If you’re in Rosenberg, you don’t have to go far for great theater. Simply attend a show by the CAST Theatrical Company, a non-profit performing arts company that has been in operation since 1989. Performances of musicals, comedies, and dramas are offered at CAST’s intimate 62-seat theater in Rosenberg’s Historic Downtown District every Friday and Saturday night. Fort Bend County Courthouse
With its stately Roman-style columns bronze dome topped with an imposing statue of Lady Justice, the original three-story Fort Bend County Courthouse certainly impresses. The courthouse, built in 1908 and restored in 1980, sits among other governmental buildings and historic structures on the northeastern side of Richmond.

Fort Bend Museum
Fort Bend County’s history goes all the way back to early 1820’s, when Stephen F. Austin established his first colony in the area. Since then, the county has amassed a colorful and fascinating history that can be explored at the Fort Bend Museum. Tour the Museum Gallery to learn about life along the Brazos River, then explore the 1855-built Long-Smith Cottage and the 1883 Moore Mansion, home to Congressman John. M. and Lottie Dyer Moore.

George Ranch Historical Park
Immerse yourself in the lives and experiences had by cowboys and ranchers on the Texan frontier at the George Ranch Historical Park. Tour the 20,000-acre working ranch and you’ll see historic homes, costumed interpreters giving a variety of demonstrations, and livestock. This living history park sits just 30 miles southwest of Houston in Richmond.

John M. Moore Home
The John M. Moore Home is a stately neo-classical mansion furnished with period fixtures and furniture. It once belonged to a prominent rancher and former congressman. Today, it’s part of the Fort Bend County Museum and can be toured from Tuesday through Sunday.

Long-Smith Cottage
This frontier-style home was built in 1855 on land once owned by Jane Long, who was known as the “Mother of Texas.” The quaint home, furnished with Long’s possessions and other furniture from the 1840’s to the 1860’s, is now an extension of the Fort Bend County Museum that can be visited Tuesday through Sunday.

McFarlane House
McFarlane House is a charming two-story home built between 1882 and 1883 that has since been restored to its original glory. The home resides across the street from the Fort Bend County Courthouse and is currently the home of the Fort Bend Museum Association’s offices.

Morton Cemetery
Some of Fort Bend County’s earliest residents, and some of the Lone Star State’s most prominent people, are interred at Morton Cemetery in Richmond. Big-name Texans like Jane Long and Mirabeau R. Lamar (President of the Republic of Texas from 1838 to 1841), are laid to rest in the cemetery. Tours are available by appointment.

Rosenberg Historic Downtown District
Whimsical antique shops, boutique clothing and jewelry stores, and unique restaurants can all be found in Rosenberg’s Historic Downtown District. Stroll from one restored storefront to another on a wide sidewalk along a two-lane street, get a bite to eat, and attend a performance by the CAST Theatrical Company. Rosenberg Railroad Museum
Browse a stunning collection of artifacts, maps, photographs, and memorabilia that tells the story of the railroad in Fort Bent County at the Rosenberg Railroad Museum. The museum features static displays of a 1972 Mopac caboose; an 1879 Quebec passenger coach, the historic tower that housed the electro-mechanical interlocker; and a gallery full of various knickknacks. Seabourne Creek Nature Park
Seabourne Creek Nature Park occupies about 164-acres of scenic coastal plain terrain that includes prairies, wetlands, and wooded areas.
