Stroll along Wimberley Square to spot murals and outdoor sculpture, a reflection of the local commitment to creativity.  

Take a short drive and visit Wimberley Glassworks in nearby San Marcos where glassblowers form hand-blown objects in eye-catching shapes and colors. See their finished pieces in the Glassworks’ indoor gallery as well as in awe-inspiring outdoor exhibits.  


Wimberley’s Outdoor Activities Bring a Smile to Everyone’s Face 

Fresh air? Yes, please! Wimberley is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, delivering adventures to fit every interest and experience level. Take a hike or hit a mountain bike trail at Blue Hole Regional Park and Jacob’s Well Natural Area for a day of exhilarating fun.  

These sites also offer clear blue spring fed swimming holes for refreshing summertime swimming. A gentle hike for the young and young at heart, Old Baldy is the perfect place to stretch your legs and catch a spectacular summit view of Wimberley Valley.  

Water enthusiasts will love spending the day paddling or tubing in the tranquil waters of Blanco River and Cypress Creek. Feeling daring? Strap into a harness at Wimberley Zip Line and soar over canyons and creeks as you take in a heart-pumping 15-mile view.  

How about some stargazing? Bring a supper picnic, blanket, and see the Texas night sky shine bright at one of Wimberley’s biannual Blue Hole Star Parties hosted by the Wimberley Valley Dark Sky Committee and the Texas State Astronomy Club.


Indulge in Retail Therapy  

Visitors and locals alike know that Wimberley is a fabulous place to shop. From March to December, Wimberley Market Days takes place on the first Saturday of the month and features nearly 500 booths from regional artisans and retailers. Stroll under shady oaks and find glasswork, garden decor, candles, gifts, artwork, vintage items, and so much more. There’s so much to see, it’s a good thing this event takes place 10 months out of the year! 

Colorful, historic Wimberley Square is also known for its lively, retail scene. Take your time browsing local boutiques and galleries that feature fashionable styles, art, photography, jewelry, housewares, varieties of cowboy boots, Hill Country wines, toys, and more.  

It’s no surprise that each shop offers a bit of Texan flair, and you’ll be guaranteed to find something truly original. Find a variety of kitchen wares from Kiss the Cook and check out what’s new for the home and wardrobe at Shop the Tree House.  

When you need a break, step into one of the many local eateries and watering holes along the Square for a little refreshment before you hit the stores again. Free parking is available both on the street and in conveniently located parking lots.

Live local music is a huge part of life in Wimberley, a place oozing with charm, culture, and ambiance. Wimberley might be a small town, but it boasts an adventurous culinary scene. Along with steaks, seafood, pizza, barbecue, and Tex-Mex. Diverse menus offer trendy fare as well as vegan, vegetarian, and allergen-free options. Best of all, many restaurants feature lovely outdoor patios with fresh air and pleasant views.  

Sink your teeth into homemade comfort food and diner classics at beloved Wimberley Café, a popular draw for breakfast, lunch, and supper. Sample a wide variety of regional classics at Chill’s on the River, including a homemade Bavarian pretzel served with three dipping sauces. For sumptuous shareables, fine wines, and craft cocktails, try the Leaning Pear, a modern spot that’s great for showing off that new outfit.  

The Hill Country is known for fine wines and craft beer, and you can sample them in Wimberley’s many bars and restaurants. Get to know your favorite local wines at Hill Country Wine Shoppe, where tastings feature six different wines from regional boutique producers. You can’t visit the Texas Hill Country without a trip to a winery, and Wimberley Valley Winery is located just a few minutes from downtown.  

As an added bonus, the tasting room is also home to Wimberley Valley Winery’s sister company, Lone Man Mountain Brewing Co. Sip refreshing flights or pints of award-winning craft beers. If you’re feeling hungry, the winery’s onsite food trucks serve juicy burgers and wood-fired pizzas to keep you satisfied.
