Held annually on the Saturday before Labor Day
Looking for a fantastic way to celebrate Labor Day Weekend? The Kow Kick Family Fun Festival is a community gathering sponsored by the Kimble County Chamber of Commerce, held along the banks of the Llano River, that will remind you of the good old days. Enjoy listening to traditional music under the shade of Schreiner Park trees.
The competition is held annually, on Labor Day Weekend, and includes an arts and crafts sale, rides and attractions for the kids, concessions, a washer pitching contest and the acclaimed Lone Star Bar-B-Q Society Cook-off State Championship. Gather your secret spices and plan to enter the competition that awards the lucky winner $5,000. This is serious BBQ Business!
The event is free to attend (There is an entry fee for contestants), and awards are given to the youngest and oldest attendee, the longest married couple and the person who travelled the furthest to attend the event.
Plan to bring the whole family out to enjoy a late-summer day in Junction. With plenty to do for young and older, the day promises some great memories to be made.
