Great Hill Country Pumpkin Patch
Oct 08, 2022 - Oct 30, 2022
It’s that time of year again, when the Hill Country begins to change colors marking the beginning of the fall season. Maple trees, cooler weather and bright orange pumpkins are a sure sign fall is near. Nobody celebrates fall better than Love Creek Orchards, home of the Great Hill Country Pumpkin Patch. Love Creek Orchards, pioneer of the Texas apple industry, has been hosting the Great Hill Country Pumpkin Patch for the past 27 years. Nestled in the heart of the Texas Hill Country on Highway 16 North in Medina, Love Creek is the perfect setting for a children’s festival.
The goal of the Great Hill Country Pumpkin Patch is to both entertain and educate children. We have been consistently voted one of the top Pumpkin Patches in the state! The event includes a hayride, scarecrow building, pumpkin painting, games and photo opportunities. It also includes a petting zoo, apple orchard tour, cider making and processing apples on the apple line. “We want children to experience a day on the farm and have fun”, says owner Bryan Hutzler, “and make it a learning experience, as well. What a great way to learn about agriculture and how apples are grown and harvested.” We feature pig races, storytelling and playing an instrument in the Great Hill Country Symphony. There is so much to do you will want to stay the whole day! After 27 years, we are proud to have multiple generations returning each year. Bring a picnic lunch or enjoy food from our vendors. Love Creek offers bakery treats, apple ice cream, and of course, fresh pressed apple cider. And of course, you will find an amazing variety of pumpkins.
For 2022, we open Saturday October 8th, and will be open from 10-4 on Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays. Our last day will be Sunday October 30. Admission includes the free hayride, petting zoo, pumpkin painting (you buy the pumpkin and we provide the paint), tours, and entertainment.
