Due South 2024: A Juried Texas Sculpture Group Exhibition

May 23, 2024 - Jul 27, 2024

“Due South 2024: A Juried Texas Sculpture Group Exhibition” is a multi-faceted exhibition featuring installations, photographs, and sculptures by professional artists and professors from across the state. The work is a survey of sculptures currently being created by sculptor members and was juried by Alexis Ramos, an artist, curator, and lecturer at South Texas College, and Aleida Garcia, the Director of the Cultural Arts Department. The Texas Sculpture Group is a state-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization formed to promote contemporary sculpture as an art form, educate the public regarding the aesthetics of sculpture, and promote and support sculptors. The organization’s goal is to establish or renew the identification and camaraderie among those who make, collect, research, or simply enjoy contemporary sculpture in Texas. “Due South, 2024,” will run through July 26, 2024. The San Benito Cultural Heritage Museum is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guided tours and in-person access are available throughout the exhibit dates.
