One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
Jul 12, 2024 - Jul 21, 2024
Hollingsworth Hall Cultural Center presents One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, directed by
heather lea hollingsworth and written by Dale Wasserman from the novel by Ken Kesey.
Seen from the memory of inmate Chief Bromden, we witness Randle Patrick McMurphy, recently
transferred for evaluation from a prison farm to a mental institution. Mistakenly, he assumes it will be a less restrictive environment. But the martinet Nurse Ratched runs the psychiatric ward with an iron fist, keeping her patients cowed through abuse, medication, sessions of electroconvulsive therapy or the ultimate--lobotomy. The battle of wills between the rebellious McMurphy and the inflexible, malicious Ratched soon effects all the ward's patients.
