Pasadena was once known as the "Strawberry Capital of the South." The strawberries grown here were known for their size and sweetness and were shipped all over the country. Pasadena may have since relinquished its title, but since 1974 residents here have been paying tribute to their beloved fruit with a Texas-sized event that’s sure to satisfy the entire family: it's the Pasadena Strawberry Festival, an annual 3 day event (this year it’s May 16-18) that draws over 45,000 people from all walks of life to the midway.
The Pasadena Strawberry Festival is also the place to get down and dirty in the Texas State Mud Volleyball Tournament. The grounds are equipped with 16 mud-filled courts and the event is always a crowd pleaser. If that’s not enough mud for you, make sure you come out on Sunday, May 18th because that’s when the mud pit hosts the Warrior Games, which include a tug-of-war…always a blast when there’s mud involved!
The Festival also has an area called the Kids Zone with plenty of fun activities, including arts and crafts, games, pony rides, a petting zoo, shows and much more.
And if shopping is your thing then you are in luck because this year there will be over 300 vendors indoors and out for you to check out.
So why not make plans to stop by The Pasadena Strawberry Festival this year for 3 fun-filled days of everything strawberry...and then some! Come join the fine folks of Pasadena, Texas, for 106 acres of family fun!
