Big Bend Resort & Adventures is also near the town of Terlingua, which was once a prosperous mining village built during the
height of the old west in the mid-1880s. In 1922, forty percent of the nation's quicksilver was produced here. By the 1940's, Terlingua was a ghost town. Since then, Terlingua has gained notoriety by attracting over 10,000 visitors to their annual International Chili Cookoff.

Directions to Big Bend Resort & Adventures
From Alpine, TX:
Take Route 118 South and follow signs for "Study Butte" and Big Bend National Park. We are 80 miles South at the junction of Routes 118 and 170.
From Marathon, TX:
Take Route 385 South through Big Bend National Park to Panther Junction. Turn right and follow the road out of the Park into Route 118. We are located at the junction of Routes 118 and 170.
