Jacob's Well is one of the most significant natural geologic treasures in the Texas Hill Country. It is one of the longest underwater caves in Texas and an artesian spring.
Jacob’s Well surges up thousands of gallons of water per minute and acts as headwaters to the beautiful Cypress Creek that flows through Wimberley, sustaining Blue Hole and the Blanco River, recharging the Edwards Aquifer, and finally replenishing estuaries in the Gulf of Mexico.
Jacob’s Well has been integral to the cultural and historical character of the Wimberley Valley. The location has been a beloved swimming hole for generations, a gathering place for Native Americans and early settlers, and a rich habitat for aquatic species. Through the creation of the Jacob’s Well Natural Area, the land around the well has been unified to restore and protect this sensitive area for future generations.
Jacob's Well Cemetery has been officially designated as a Historic Texas Cemetery by the Texas Historical Commission. Among those interred at Jacob's Well Cemetery are nine Confederate Army veterans, including Moses Bond Egger, many Texas Rangers, homemakers, stockmen (or ranchers), teachers and veterans of World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
In some cases, entire families who died from epidemics are buried together, and the cemetery also includes a number of unidentified and unmarked graves. The cemetery is located one-quarter mile east of the crossroads of Jacob's Well Road and Ranch Road 2325.

Grab your cowboy hat and boots and enjoy a wild, adrenaline rush of Wimberley's rodeo.
A Hill Country tradition, the Annual Pro-Open VFW Rodeo and PBR Bull Riding has been held for more than 65 years on the first weekend in July at the VFW's rodeo grounds just north of town on Ranch Road 12. Once the largest outdoor rodeo in the world, the event still ranks near the top.
Quicksand Golf Course is the area’s premier golf course. Surrounded by the charm of the Texas hill country Quicksand is a semi-private course, open to public play.
Winding its way through the City of Woodcreek, the 18 hole, par 72 course designed by Bruce Littell features 6,470 yards of golf. Quicksand offers a fully stocked pro-shop and the 19th Hole Above Par Grille.
Cypress Falls Swimming Hole has been a destination for locals and visitors for as long as some residents can remember. This particular spot is the home of Woodcreek’s signature Eagle Rock, a name still used to identify the swimming hole. Eagle Rock is a naturally carved rock formation and its neighbor, a solitary limestone boulder that seems to wade in the creek. This swimming hole remains a hallmark of Woodcreek and the beautiful Cypress Creek.
