Austin Zoo Hours and Admission Prices

Over 300 rescued critters, representing 100 different species from around the world, call Austin Zoo home. This rescue zoo is located in Texas Hill Country, that’s committed to rescuing animals in need and educating visitors through daily zookeeper chats and up-close encounters with the animal ambassadors. For kids, the zoo’s school break and summer camps offer unforgettable experiences and foster a deeper appreciation for the earth’s creatures.

As you explore the zoo, you’ll see everything from big cats to toothy alligators! Make some memories of a lifetime as you feed lettuce to a giant, laidback Galapagos tortoise, or meet a friendly South American capybara. Along with seeing exotic animals, you can feed farm animals who’ve been given a second lease on life. While you’re here, hop on the Rawhide Rocket, a miniature passenger train, to enjoy the scenic countryside and view some of the other animals at the zoo.

Austin Zoo Hours

February 1 to October 31

• Monday through Friday: 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday: 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

November 1 to January 31

• Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The last entry is one hour before the zoo closes.

• Adult: $18.95
• Senior (60+): $17.95
• Student or Military with ID $17.95
• Child (2 to 12 years old): $15.95
• Child (under 2): Free
• Zoo Members: Free
• Guest of Zoo Members: $11.95

Please buy your paperless ticket online and show your emailed receipt to the admission clerk at the gate.

Purchase your Rawhide Rocket train tickets at the train depot. Tickets are $5 per person.

Onsite parking is free. Be sure to wear comfortable, close-toed shoes, since the trails aren’t paved. You’re welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks into the zoo, or purchase snacks and beverages in the gift shop or train depot.
