Monument Hill & Kreische Brewery State Historic Sites
This state historic site is a combination of two historically significant places in one. Monument Hill contains a graveyard and monument to the fallen heroes of two conflicts that occurred against Mexico in 1842. Kreische Brewery was one of the first breweries in Texas. Today, its ruins stand on the 40-acre state historic site complex and can be seen during any visit. The stately home of Heinrich Kreische, who founded the brewery in the 1860’s, is on-site as well.

N.W. Faison House
Step back into the past at the Historic N.W. Faison House, a mid-19th century home that is one of the oldest in Fayette County. The home’s original owner, Nathaniel W. Faison, was a military hero and land baron. Today, the fully restored home is full of antique furnishings, offering a look at what everyday life was like in the Texas’ earliest days.

Old Fayette County Jail

Fayette County has the largest population of Czechs per capita, and the most Czech communities, in Texas. Texas Quilt Museum

The Bugle Boy
Enjoy great live music in La Grange at The Bugle Boy, an intimate concert hall housed within World War II army barracks. The venue features a listening room, where talking is not permitted and all the focus naturally goes to the performer. The Jersey Barnyard
