Cedar Park

Take a vintage train ride through rolling tree-lined hills, sip and savor a local craft brew, go on a shopping spree, or check out a basketball or hockey game. These are just some of the many things you can do in Cedar Park Texas. Located just 30 minutes north of downtown Austin and Austin Bergstrom International Airport, Cedar Park offers a laid back, small town feel with big city amenities.

Cedar Park hasn’t always been the bustling city that it is today. Pioneers George W. Cluck and his wife Hattie Cluck were some of the founding members of the city and Hattie Cluck was one of very few women who drove cattle on the Chisolm Trail. It was on the trail that George and Hattie decided to stay awhile and build their homestead. They arrived in 1873 and purchased 329 acres. The city went through a few name changes over the years, and then in 1887, its final name was chosen as “Cedar Park”. The name came from the Cedar trees that populated the area and a large park that was located at the railroad stop to welcome visitors. Even though Cedar Park continues to grow and become a major destination for visitors, that welcoming hospitality and pioneering spirit hasn’t changed.

We put the “Park” in Cedar Park with an abundance of outdoor parkland. Take in the natural beauty of Brushy Creek Lake Park.
