Heritage House
Step back in time at the Heritage House in Irving, one of the oldest homes in the city. Heritage House was built in 1912 by C.P. Schulze, who was the brother of the co-founder of Irving, and deeded to the city by the Schulze family in 1975 to become open to tours. The house is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark and offers visitors fun events like vintage fashion shows, teas, speakers, and Mary’s Playhouse in the back garden area.

Irving Arts Center
The Irving Arts Center is one of the central heartbeats of this city that provides an abundance of vibrant art and theatrical productions for all to enjoy. This center, a member of the Smithsonian Affiliations program, has two theaters, four galleries, and an outdoor sculpture garden that showcases permanent and traveling exhibits from well-known art like sculptor James Surls’ Star Flower. Irving Heritage District
When J.O. Schulze and Otis Brown founded Irving in 1903, they started on 80 acres of land. Naturally, the city has progressed, but Irving celebrates and preserves its heritage at the Irving Heritage District.  Shop in antique stores and grab a Barney Fife Buffalo Burger and root beer float at the famous Big State Fountain Grill, or check out Heritage House, one of the oldest homes in Irving. Don’t forget to stop by Heritage Park, where you can visit the historic train depot.

Jackie Townsell Bear Creek Heritage Center
Get a glimpse of one of the earliest Irving community at the Jackie Townsell Bear Creek Heritage Center, comprised of The Bear Creek Masonic Lodge, The Green House, The J.O. Davis House, and the Native Plant Garden. The Bear Creek community is one of the oldest African-American communities in Dallas County and this heritage center helps to tell the story of this community’s experiences from emancipation through the civil rights movement. Jackie Townsell moved to the Bear Creek community in 1949 at age 13 and worked to better the community’s living conditions. She was voted onto Irving’s city council, where she served for 18 years.

Las Colinas
Las Colinas surrounds Lake Carolyn and is home to shops and restaurants that line the Venetian-style Mandalay Canals. Mustangs of Las Colinas
Don’t miss the largest equestrian sculpture in the world, the Mustangs of Las Colinas, when you’re in Irving. African wildlife artist Robert Glen created this masterpiece that is the centerpiece of the Las Colinas Urban Center’s Williams Square Plaza. National Scouting Museum
The official museum of the Boy Scouts of America, the National Scouting Museum in Irving celebrates more than 100 years of scouting through exhibitions, fine art, one-of-a-kind collections, programs, and events. You’ll find the art in this museum is quite impressive with the largest collection of Norman Rockwell’s scouting-related art (the Boy Scouts of America gave Rockwell his first art gig, then he passed the baton to Joseph Csatari). Ruth Paine House Museum
Lee Harvey Oswald spent the night in Ruth Paine’s home in Irving the night before he shot President John F. Kennedy in Dallas’ Dealey Plaza. The Ruth Paine House Museum has been restored to its 1963 décor and gives visitors an intimate look at the details surrounding JFK’s assassination with Warren Commission photos and projected vignettes in the house of actors playing the roles of Ruth and Michael Paine, and Marina and Lee Harvey Oswald, bringing the story to life.

TPC at Four Seasons Resort and Club
