Fourth of July

You’ve never experienced a Fourth of July celebration quite like this. Held at the Presidio Swimming Pool or at the Daly Park, the community’s annual celebration of American independence is fun for all ages. Splash and cool off in the pool, enjoy food and vendors and prepare to see dramatic fireworks lighting up west Texas’ famed dark skies.

October

St. Teresa de Jesus de Avila Celebration

This historic church, whose origins date back to Spanish missions established in 1683-84, marks its history each October with a two-day fiesta. Experience traditional food and dancing, a raffle, arts, crafts and music.

December

Presidio Posada

Presidio is the site of the first documented Christmas celebration in Texas. The first weekend in December is the Christmas festival, the Presidio Posada, kicking off the holidays with twinkling lights and a community Christmas tree on O’Reilly Street downtown. A parade with Santa Claus, classic cars and floats rolls throughout downtown. A children’s choir perform carols to get everyone in the mood.

Presidio International Drag Strip

Hear engines rev, as drag racers from West Texas to northern Mexico flock to Presidio to burn rubber on the town’s 310-foot International Drag Strip. Park on either side of the strip to watch, where you will enjoy impromptu tailgates as lightning-fast cars fly down the speedway.

Presidio Community Farmers Market

Find fresh eggs, produce, tamales, birria tacos, artisan goods and more at the Presidio Farmers Market, held every Saturday morning in downtown Presidio.
