See the Round Rock
Round Rock’s name was inspired by a, you guessed it, round rock that juts from the trickling waters of the nearby Brushy Creek. In the City’s earliest days, the rock marked a low point frequently used by wagons and cattle drivers to cross the waterway. To see it for yourself, head to the section of Memorial Park perched on the north bank of the creek east of Chisholm Trail Road. Look closely enough and you may even see wagon wheel ruts made by caravans that crossed the creek long ago.

There are two Round Rock courses you can take on, totaling 36 holes of play that will have you planning your trip back to the Sports Capital of Texas. The sloped fairways, strategically placed sand and water hazards, and beautiful vistas at Forest Creek Golf Club will challenge your game as much as it takes your breath away.
All the beauty of the Texas Hill Country is also showcased at Teravista Golf Club, where you’ll enjoy views that span more than 50 miles as you play your way through the challenging 7,200-yard course. Tee times for both courses can be booked online.
Get Outdoors at Old Settlers Park & Rock-N River Water Park
There are many more ways to enjoy nature in Round Rock than playing golf. Find a shady spot in Old Settlers Park for a picnic and then play a game of horseshoes in the pavilion, a round of disc golf, or a pickup game of football or soccer. Known as a major youth and amateur sports venue with 12 tennis courts and 20 baseball, five softball, five soccer, and two football fields, Old Settlers Park has it all.
During the summer, cool off at the Rock’N River Water Park. Ride the water slides and let your kids play at the enormous sprayground with hose jets, water guns, and about 50 other features. When you start getting an appetite, get the fuel you need to play at the on-site food truck service area.
