July

Independence Day Celebration
It’s no wonder that a community known for its trips to the stars would host an action-packed celebration of the Stars and Stripes. The day starts with Water Wars, a community-wide water fight that starts at noon and pits neighbor against neighbor with surprise squirts from garden hoses and water guns. At 6 pm, the community heads to David Braun Park for food vendors, live music, and pie baking (and eating!) contests. A parade honoring local veterans rolls at the same time, with honors given to the best-decorated floats. The celebration culminates at 9 pm with dramatic fireworks show over Nassau Lake.
