Best Southwest Juneteenth Celebration
Enjoy flavorful treats from food vendors, browse stands filled with arts and crafts, and listen to musical performances at the Juneteenth celebration in DeSoto. This event, held in Grimes Park in mid-June, commemorates the day slaves in Texas found out they were free.

Old Fashioned Fourth Fireworks Celebration
Marvel at the colorful lights and thundering sounds of fireworks exploding in the pitch-black skies above DeSoto as part of the town’s Independence Day celebration. Head to Lancaster Community Park on July 4 to see the show. Admission and parking are free.

Uptown Downtown Music Series
Top-class jazz and classical music performers headline the Uptown Downtown Music Series, a seven-night concert series that starts in mid-September and ends in late October. Home Town Holiday & Parade of Lights
Revel in DeSoto’s holiday season festivities by checking out its long-running parade of lights. For a few hours in early December, watch as cars and floats with colorful lights that represent local organizations and business travel through town, with the epicenter of the action happening at the DeSoto Town Center.
