SPRING

League City Music Fest & BBQ Cookoff (May)
This three-day festival event in League City is a celebration of good food and good music. Enjoy a carnival atmosphere with rides for all ages, incredible musical acts, and some of the best BBQ in southeast Texas.


Wednesday Night Races on Clear Lake (April to October)
Since 1980, Wednesday Night Sailboat Races have been an institution on Clear Lake. The regatta features numerous classes of boats that spectators can enjoy watching almost every week between April and October.


Spring Birding Migration
League City’s ideal location on the upper Texas Coast places birding enthusiasts right in the heart of birding hotspots during Spring Migration. League City is part of the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail’s Clear Lake Loop. Nearby birding GTCB trails include the San Jacinto Loop, Texas City Loop, and Galveston Loop. Fireworks Extravaganza (July)
Held every year on July 3rd, this hometown Independence Day celebration features food trucks, bounce houses, games, music, and a 30-minute fireworks spectacular set to a patriotic soundtrack.


Clear Creek Paddle Race (August)
Paddlers of all ages and skill levels can participate in this four-mile loop race on scenic Clear Creek. There are separate categories for kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, and other self-propelled watercraft. The race begins and ends at Countryside Park, and the men’s and women’s winners of each category receive a prize. All participants receive a swag bag.


FALL

Harvest Festival (October)
Dress up in your Halloween costume or your favorite fall tee, and come to historic League City for this family-friendly festival. Shop local vendors and taste delicious food truck cuisine, while kiddos enjoy crafts, face painting, balloon animals, and a hayride around the park, all culminating in a costume contest with prizes.


Fall Birding Migration
League City is a wonderful hotspot for bird watchers to enjoy Fall Migation on the the Upper Texas Coast. League City is located on the Clear Lake Loop of the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail.


WINTER

Sugar Plum Fairy Weekend (late November)
Bay Area Houston Ballet and Theatre hosts this special event at South Shore Harbour Resort. The kid-friendly weekend includes breakfast with the Sugar Plum Fairy, character meet and greets, a holiday market, Nutcracker vignette performances, and even a hot chocolate pajama party.


Shop Small Saturday, Nutcracker in the Park & Tree Lighting (Saturday after Thanksgiving)
League City kicks off it’s Hometown Holiday Season the first Saturday after Thanksgiving in the Historic District with a vendor market, a local shopping passport and a flurry of family-friendly festivities.


Holiday in the Park (December)
League City’s kickoff to the holiday season includes three days of holly jolly events in the charming historic district. Festivities begin with a holiday movie at the park on Friday evening and continue through the weekend with holiday performances, local vendor booths, a pet parade, and the Grand Night Parade showcasing festive entertainment and elaborate floats.


Christmas Boat Lane Parade (December)
Watch a bevy of beautiful boats decked out with Christmas lights as they make their way through Clear Lake and out to Galveston Bay. The Christmas boat lane parade has been a Clear Lake area tradition since the 1960s and draws more than 100,000 onlookers.


Mardi Gras (January and February)
In the months of January and February, League City and Bay Area Houston host several family-oriented and pet-friendly events celebrating Mardi Gras, including the Yachty Gras boat parade.
