Attractions in Big Spring
West Texas is known for its wide-open expanses and novel points of interest, and Big Spring has plenty of both. The city’s parks and outdoor venues are beautiful places to enjoy the “big sky” naturescape in what is usually sunny weather. It’s also a standout destination for lovers of arts and culture, thanks in part to its local symphony and community college. Read on for more about some of the best attractions in Big Spring.
Big Spring State Park
Walk, jog, or bike the trails to the top of a 200-foot bluff in the park and you’ll be treated to a spectacular view that’s unbeatable when the sun is coming up or going down. The park also features an interpretive center with Indian fossils and artifacts, and a 50-person pavilion that’s available for group rentals.

Comanche Trail Golf Course
“The only rolling hills golf course in West Texas,” this Big Spring course comes in at just over 6,500 yards and a par 72. The hills make for fun elevation changes and can add some nice distance to your drives, provided you can keep your ball on the tight fairways. The standout hole is the 537-yard No. 7, a long par 5 with a great view of the back nine.

Picnicking or fishing at Comanche Trail Lake is a great way to spend an afternoon. In the winter, the park plays home to the popular Festival of Lights holiday display.
