Grab some hot chocolate, bundle up, and head to Scurry Street to catch the annual Big Spring Christmas Parade. Marvel at the magic of small-town Christmas cheer as elaborate floats glowing with colorful lights make their way down the parade route. This year’s theme is “When It's Christmas in Texas,” so it’s quite likely you’ll catch a glimpse of everyone’s favorite red-nosed reindeer, along with his famous friends. The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 5 and will run north on Scurry Street. Arrive a little early to secure a perfect viewing spot.

Explore a Christmas Tree Forest & Visit Santa

Stroll through a Christmas Tree Forest unlike any other at the Heritage Museum of Big Spring from Nov. 14 - Dec. 12. Wander among dozens of Christmas trees decorated with one-of-a-kind ornaments and garlands that are as unique as the people and groups who decorated them. Take it all in, then vote for your favorite tree with a cash donation.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a visit from the jolly big guy himself. Hop in the car and drive to meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus and friends during the museum's Drive Thru Christmas (Dec. 5) event. This is the perfect opportunity for your kids to write letters and their gift wishlists and give them to Santa, who will also hand out fun things for them to do (including a gingerbread cookie kit). You'll need to reserve your spot in line before the day of the event, which you can do by calling 432.267.8255.
