Stars of Texas Juried Art Exhibit
Each February the Brownwood Civic and Cultural Center hosts the annual Stars of Texas Juried Art Exhibit. This juried exhibit runs for two weeks and culminates with the presentation of $7250 in prizes featuring artists from all over Texas. The Stars of Texas Juried Art Exhibit was conceived in 1999 to showcase the newly restored Santa Fe Depot.

Wheels that Move the World
The Lehnis Railroad Museum and Visitor Center hosts the Wheels that Move the World each March. Attendees can talk to equipment operators, police officers, firemen, soldiers, and more. See how more than 25 vehicles keep the world rolling daily. Enjoy delicious local food trucks and treats. Give blood. Take a ride on the mini locomotive and so much more!

Cinco de Mayo Celebration
Head to downtown Brownwood for all the delicious food, eye-catching crafts, dancing, and fun kid’s activities that make up the town’s Cinco de Mayo celebration. Listen to a mariachi band and watch dancers wearing colorful dresses sway to the music, then have an artist paint a caricature of you. All the fun starts in the afternoon and lasts until late in the evening.

Brown County Rodeo
If you’re looking to immerse yourself in all things Texan, look no further than the Brown County Rodeo. Livestock shows, country music, a parade, and lots of folks wearing cowboy hats and boots can be seen at this can’t-miss annual event in Brownwood. The rodeo is held for three days in early June at the Brown County Fairgrounds.

Christmas Under the Stars Festival
Ring in the holiday season with funnel cakes, hot chocolate, and a variety of festive activities for folks of all ages at the Christmas Under the Stars Festival. The event includes a visit from Jolly Old Saint Nick himself, crafts projects for the youngsters, big wheel races, live music, and a Christmas play. It all kicks off in early December with a parade in downtown Brownwood, followed up by two nights of revelry at the Depot Complex and Lehnis Railroad Museum.

Polar Express Experience
Attendees of the Polar Express Experience at the Lehnis Railroad Museum will enjoy an evening walking through the pages of the" Polar Express" by Chris Van Allsburg, guiding them through the museum and its exhibits. They'll also enjoy a night ride on the narrow-gauge live steam locomotive, a cup of hot cocoa, and each child will leave with a silver bell. Santa will be available for quick photos.
