4 Super Fun Ways to Make the Most of Fall in Alvin, TX

By: Hunter Lanier  |  Last Updated: March 11, 2026

Texas is a state for all seasons. In the winter, there’s the snowy panhandle. Springtime is perfect for visiting the breezy hill country. Summer brings to life the coastline and beautiful beaches. As for the fall, you’re going to want to set your sights on Alvin.

Autumn brings Alvin a corn maze at a working farm, a Christmas train through hundreds of thousands of lights, a zoo you can tour from a tram, and goat yoga on a waterfront farm with glamping. The weather cooperates from October through December, which makes it the right time to experience everything Alvin does best.

Scroll down for the lowdown on Alvin’s most fun festivities this fall!

A young boy grins while holding two small orange pumpkins over his eyes like oversized goggles, surrounded by pumpkins of varying sizes and colors at a pumpkin patch.

Froberg’s Farm Fall Festival

When it comes to farm-to-table foods, it doesn’t get much better than Froberg’s Farm & Community Grocery, open all year-round with homegrown fruits and vegetables. If that’s still not farm-to-table enough for you, you can actually pick your own fruits and vegetables depending on the season.

Come autumn, Froberg’s Farm puts on its annual Fall Festival, most well-known for its Corn Maze. Featuring a new design every year, this labyrinth of leafage gives every visitor the opportunity to brave its branching paths and find their way out! We'd love to tell you the theme of this year's festival, but it changes every year! Check out their website for the latest info.

But the corn maze is just the beginning. You’ll be able to attend a piglet race, go on a tractor ride, and take part in special activities on the weekends. Weekend activities include the Strawberry Express, Paintball Gallery, and the ever-popular Bee Coaster!

A miniature steam train carrying passengers rolls through a holiday light display at dusk, with trees wrapped in warm golden lights lining the track against a sunset sky.

Christmas Train

Everyone loves kicking back by the fire, chuga-chugging a hot chocolate, and watching the train go around and around the Christmas tree. The only thing better is if you could shrink down and ride in the train yourself. Now you can! Minus the shrinking part.

It’s all aboard at Victory Camp in Alvin where the Christmas Train takes its travelers through hundreds of thousands of magnificent lights. Coaches are open-air, so it’s easy to catch all the amazing sights. After the train ride, brush off that racing jacket for some go-karting, get yourself some deep-dish pizza in the dining room, or do some Christmas shopping at the Victory Camp General Store Gift Shop!

A camel leans its head toward the camera with a curious expression, standing in a lush green pasture under bright sunlight.

Bayou Wildlife Zoo

As much as everyone loves a visit to the zoo, we all know there’s a lot of walking involved and your enjoyment can be tied to the weather. With that in mind, visiting the Bayou Wildlife Zoo in the fall is all the best parts of the zoo without those pesky drawbacks.

The fall weather makes the trip nothing but pleasant, and if you’re still tired, the zoo’s main attraction is its guided tram ride. This 30-minute ride takes you through the entire zoo, providing up-close looks at buffalo, camels, zebras, and other creatures you don’t see every day.

Aside from the tram ride, you can also visit Addie Lou’s Barnyard, where you’ll find a capybara, miniature zebus, and lemurs, just to name a few of its adorable residents. If you’re looking for giraffes, you’ll find them in the Big Red Barn, which also houses the gift shop. No, the giraffes aren’t working the register.

Outside of the zoo experience, it’s also worth mentioning Alvin’s thriving birdwatching community. As a matter of fact, the town is part of the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail, which means the town is complete with boardwalks, kiosks, observation platforms, and landscaping designed to attract birds. Whether you’re a birding enthusiast or are just curious, it’s worth it to check a few of the most popular birdwatching spots.

A young goat wearing a pink collar and yellow tag sniffs at a seated person's sandal during an outdoor goat yoga session on a grassy lawn.

Goat Yoga

If just visiting animals isn’t enough for you, you may be interested in doing yoga with them. Yep, that’s right. Alvin is home to its very own Goat Yoga experience at the Goats on the Bayou Farm! File it under things you didn’t know you needed.

At this 3-acre waterfront property, you’ll have the opportunity to alleviate stress and rejuvenate your body through yoga classes with added animal therapy, all in the cool fall weather. The peaceful presence of the goats adds an extra layer of leisure to the experience. After all, it’s near-impossible to look into the face of a doe-eyed goat and not smile.

What’s more, Goats on the Bayou Farm Goat Yoga offers a number of glamping options for making a weekend out of your visit. A yoga-free Happy Hour with the goats is another option, if you’re more into the hanging out with goats part than the yoga part.

Spend a Weekend in Alvin this Fall

In this time of carving pumpkins, carve out a weekend of your fall to visit Alvin, TX. With the comfortable weather of Southeast Texas during the autumn, there’s no better time to spend a weekend with four-legged friends at the Bayou Wildlife Zoo and the Goats on the Bayou Goat Yoga experience. It’s also the only time of the year when you can attend Froberg’s Farm Fall Festival and the Christmas Train, both of which are perfect destinations for the entire family to have fun.

Need a place to stay during your visit? You’re in luck, because Alvin has a whole host of cozy lodgings just waiting to make your vacation as stress-free as possible.
